Fishing the Globe

My name is Michael, I am currently 32 years old and come from Bavaria. For the last decade I have always worked in the IT industry, but for a long time I have cherished the dream of traveling, getting to know different cultures, cuisines, people and fishing areas. Last year in July I finally took the plunge, quit my job and went to New Zealand for a year. It was the best decision of my life. And I realized that I wanted to combine my passion for fly fishing and traveling. That's how the idea of the “Fishing the globe” project was born.
There are hardly any pictures of my time in Malaysia and New Zealand, because after more than a decade in the IT industry I needed to get away from technology, so I spent a year without a cell phone, computer or internet. But I always kept a diary and noted down all the rivers, lakes and waters I fished in. I will gradually publish this on this website.

So what is it all about?
I want to offer other people a source of inspiration. To awaken their courage to set out on unknown paths, to explore new waters, countries and cultures. 
At the same time, of course, I want to share my experiences with the local rivers and lakes. Maybe it will help some of you.

Is there already a new destination?
Yes, this time I'm going to Canada for 2 years. I don't know what comes after that yet, I'll be happy to be surprised. I'm currently setting up a Twitch & YouTube channel to record my trip, experiences and fishing adventures and share them with you.
